Can I accept two offers of admission to college?

I have been accepted to Purdue-West Lafayette and University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. So far, I am leaning towards Purdue. Obviously, I have to accept an offer to one of them by May 1, but I am not going to find out about a big scholarship to U of I until later in May. What would happen if I accept my offer to both schools? Thanks
