Is the University of Louisiana at Lafayette a good school to go to for Petroleum Engineering?

I am currently a junior in high school and I have been looking at potential colleges. Expense is a very big deal as I do not want thousands of dollars of debt after graduation. Lafayette offers a very affordable option for what I want to major in, but I was wondering if the big oil/gas companies recruit on campus? Thanks.
